With iOS & iPadOS, a Bluetooth MIDI connection is set up in the settings of the Music app.
To do this, open the MIDI settings of the app and select your piano from the list of devices displayed there – the connection will be established. Further instructions on opening the Bluetooth MIDI settings can be found in the instructions for your app.
If your app supports MIDI but does not offer you Bluetooth MIDI settings, you can establish a connection via the C. Bechstein Connect app: open the C. Bechstein Connect app and tap on “Connect instrument”. Select your piano from the list of devices displayed there – the connection will be established and will be available to other apps from then on.
A Bluetooth-MIDI connection is made under macOS using the Audio MIDI Setup app (part of the operating system). This manual article from Apple describes the procedure step by step.
After activation, the C. Bechstein Connect is fully available to all MIDI applications.
Alternatively, you can also establish the connection via the C. Bechstein Connect app (available on Macs with Apple Silicon): open the C. Bechstein Connect app and tap on “Connect instrument”. Select your piano from the list of devices displayed there – the connection will be established and will be available to other apps from then on.
With Android OS, a Bluetooth MIDI connection is set up in the settings of the music app you want to use.
To do this, open the MIDI settings of the app and select your piano from the list of devices displayed there – the connection will be established. You can find further information on opening the Bluetooth MIDI settings in the instructions for your app.

With Windows OS, a Bluetooth MIDI connection is set up in the settings of the music app you want to use. Note that support for Bluetooth MIDI has been integrated since Windows 10, which makes setup easier.
For Windows operating systems, you must first change the Bluetooth device detection from “Standard” to “Advanced” under Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Devices. If you now click on Add devices, you will also see Bluetooth MIDI devices such as your C. Bechstein piano will also be displayed. Select your instrument from the list of visible Bluetooth devices to establish a connection.
Then open the MIDI settings of the Music app and select your piano from the list of devices displayed there – the connection will then be established. Under Windows, it is usually possible to use several MIDI applications at the same time. If this does not work without problems, special MIDI routing software such as loopMIDI or the classic MIDI-OX can help.
Further information on opening the Bluetooth MIDI settings can be found in the instructions for your app.
